~Fleurs et de Plume No. 2~
Buy PrintAbout this work:
The roses and feathers were collected on the property where I live in rural Tennessee. Through watercolor shading techniques the subject is realistic and familiar. By assigning unnatural pigment identity to familiar subjects a fictional element occurs within still life representation.
A playful bounce and wispy feathered painting technique found in Franco decorative art is abundant in ~Fleurs et de Plume No. 2~. By intentionally assigning silver to the feathers and blue to the roses a dichotomy is revealed. While it could be seen as fanciful or dandyish there is a strong masculinity encompassing the painting.
